LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday, in a petition regarding the closure of private TV channels during the Faizabad operation has issued a notice to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).
The petition, which is currently being heard in LHC states that PEMRA didn’t provide a plausible reason for taking the TV channels off air and that the step resulted in the spread of uncertainty among the people.
The petitioner, therefore, requested the court to order action against the regulatory body and restrain it from doing so in future.
LHC has issued the notice to PEMRA to submit its response before the court.
