The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has refuted the claims of the federal government that by Monday (yesterday) over 65 per cent population of the country would be free of load shedding.
The PTI released a press release, stating that as many as 42pc of the feeders across the country, were facing load shedding.
On Sunday, Federal Minister for Power Awais Leghari claimed that the government had fulfilled the promise of producing surplus electricity in the country.
PTI spokesperson Fawad Ch took a jibe at Info Minister Marriyum Aurangzaib, who claimed that the ‘time for darkness’ was over as former premier Nawaz Sharif has fulfilled his pledge of making Pakistan load-shedding free. Fawad said he had “sympathies for her as she is forced to make such ‘fake statements’”.
Counseling her that such statements could not help the ousted premier, he said, “She [Marriyum] must learn the fact that if such statements could have helped Nawaz, he would not have had faced so much humiliation.”
Fawad also blamed the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government for damaging the industry and exports of the country because it failed to tackle the problem of power shortage.
