Punjab govt committed to provision of excellent healthcare: Salman Rafique

LAHORE: A delegation of Punjab government headed by the Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique held a successful roadshow at Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) Turkey.

The roadshow was attended by DEIK Public Private Partnership (PPP) Committee comprising Atilla D. Yerlikaya, Dr Cihan Genco Cetinkanat and various renowned health specialists and businessmen from Turkey.

While speaking to the participants Khawaja Salman Rafique reiterated Punjab government’s commitment to providing excellent healthcare to the people of the province.

Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah gave a detailed presentation to the delegates and highlighted the reform agenda being pursued by the Specialized HealthCare & Medical Education Department. Najam Shah while speaking at the occasion re-emphasised the need to develop the healthcare system in partnership with the private sector.

Punjab Health Initiative Management Company (PHIMC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zaheer Abbas Malik also made a detailed presentation to the forum highlighting the salient features of the PPP project and gave details about the setting up of a 500 beds hospital at Johar Town locality of Lahore.

The Turkish delegates showed great interest in the investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in the healthcare sector.
