LAHORE: The Punjab government has banned the burning of garbage and polythene bags as smog continues to thicken in the province.
Punjab govt has implemented section-144 in this regard whereas orders have been issued to officials of Environment Protection Department, Solid Waste Management Companies, district administration and Department of Industries. Punjab govt has warned of strict action on violation.
On the other hand, smog has severely affected routine life activities at scattered places in Punjab and Sindh and has also interrupted power supply.
