An alleged accused was killed in police encounter in Lyari area of the city in wee hours on Friday.
According to rescue sources, a police team conducted a search operation in Lyari area where an alleged accused, Ahsan Mahajir, aged 25, opened fire on police team, which was retaliated by the police. During exchange of fire the accused, suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
