LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday rejected the contempt of court petition against Maryam Nawaz and Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
Justice Shahid Kareem heard the contempt of court petition, which was filed by a citizen against the daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
During the proceedings, the court remarked that respect of courts does not decrease due to speeches in public rallies.
The judge further questioned how a high court can take action when the Supreme Court didn’t take notice.
The petitioner had submitted that Maryam Nawaz was targeting the judiciary in her speeches and added that the people were concerned over the anti-judiciary statements and speeches of Maryam Nawaz.
