Nawaz meets Shehbaz
Former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif held one on one meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif at his 96-Model Town residence here on Monday.
During the meeting, the prevailing political situation and future strategy were discussed. Nawaz Sharif informed his younger brother about a decision to nominate him as the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N).
MNA Hamza Shehbaz and Salman Shehbaz were also present in the meeting. The former prime minister inquired Shehbaz about his health and expressed his desire to nominate him as party head. “He (Nawaz) took Shehbaz into confidence in this respect,” a party official said.
Both the leaders also discussed ongoing election campaign in the NA-120 and prevailing political situation. Shehbaz accepted the decision while expressing full confidence on Nawaz Sharif. They agreed to announce the formal decision on September 7 during a party meeting.
