Police action against criminals: several POs detained in Punjab

LAHORE/VEHARI: The Police claimed to have detained several proclaimed offenders among dozens of suspects rounded up from various cities in Punjab the other day.

In a search operation conducted by the police in several areas of Vehari, the law enforcers claimed to have arrested 18 proclaimed offenders among 24 suspects during the overnight searches.

Officials also seized a rifle, three handguns, several rounds and drugs from arrested suspects.

In another search operation conducted in Lahore’s Sundarpur area, women police personnel helped their male colleagues. After the authorities verified particulars of residents, they held six people for having incomplete details.

Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency detained a suspect, Khalid, from Johar Town in Lahore who was claimed to be involved in making fake credit cards. Moreover, officials recovered an MSR machine, about a thousand credit cards and other things from him.

In another instance, a human smuggler was rounded up in Sargodha, while a former Fesco employee was nabbed in Faisalabad for allegedly obtaining Rs40000 in facilitating instalment of an electricity meter.

During a search operation in Bhakkar, in over 90 houses, 17 people were arrested and arms and drugs were taken into possession.
