Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq has indicated here that his party would fight the next general elections with a revolutionary spirit and a missionary passion so that she might achieve her set goals. “We would end the current corrupt and cruel system of exploitation and its defenders—the landlords and the capitalists who are the biggest advocates of the status quo,” he said this while talking to this scribe.
Haq made it clear that there were more than just one type of terrorism: Armed terrorism is the direct product of economic and political terrorism, he added. Wherever there is political and economic terrorism, there must be armed terrorism, as it is a well-calculated analysis of the political scientists, he said.
In response to a question, he fully supported the demand of a new province the “Southern Punjab”. Certifying the legitimacy of this demand, he asserted that all problems faced by the people of this area could only be resolved by establishing a new province; otherwise, no other parallel formula or arrangement would be effective or fruitful.
He made it clear that the JI want the new province as a new administrative unit. “We are totally against the division of this area on linguistic basis,” he said.
He warned that the current rulers must read the writing on the wall. Sooner or later, they would have to be forced to form the new province. He added that the PPP and PML-N both had done nothing in this regard. He further disclosed that both political parties used the slogan of the establishment of a new province as only a political card and nothing else.
Haq reiterated this point that the PPP and the PML-N are the real protectors of each other’s political and financial interests.
“Now we would have to accept this reality that both of the said political parties have always neglected this area intentionally for a long time so that the people of this region could not get their legitimate economic rights,” he said, adding that all the feudal lords and the capitalists of this area were with the leadership of these political parties in the economic exploitation of this region and its people.
Responding to another question, Haq said that the decision on the Panamagate scandal case would determine the real shape of the country’s national politics. It would decide that the politics of corruption or the politics of the fair-dealing is succeeded likewise corrupt elements are acceptable or the clean-handed politicians are preferable. This all would be cleared very soon, he added.
Haq further said that the people of Pakistan must be united against the corrupt rulers who are running the country as kings. “There is no democracy, but a dictatorship in the guise of democracy here. They did nothing for the benefit of the masses who were passing through one crisis after the other, even today.”
Poverty, unemployment, terrorism, load shedding, price-hike, etc. are all at their peak, he said, adding the pressure of the foreign loans has become unbearable but the kings are propagating the progress and development which are only cosmetic, not real. How it is to be believed?
“People must stand against this foul play, injustice, exploitation, and the politics based on lies. After coming into power, JI would introduce the real Islamic system which protects the rights of all citizens of the country,” he said.
