Peshawar Metrobus seems more expensive only if you do the math, says Imran

Sticking to his prior position of claiming that the Lahore and Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus projects were built at a very inflated cost, PTI chairman Imran Khan said that the recently announced Peshawar Metrobus project seems more expensive only if one were to actually look at the project costs.

“The Peshawar Metrobus’s per kilometer cost is lesser than the Islamabad and Lahore ones,” he said, speaking to reporters at a press conference in Bani Gala. “The Peshawar one would seem more expensive only if one were to go through the KP government proposed budget allocation and calculate the figures.”

“Otherwise the PML(N)’s projects are far more expensive,” he continued.

“Iqbal did not envision a Pakistan where citizens would listen carefully to what the politicians say and then whip out their calculators and find out how much it costs,” he said.

When a reporter remarked that it was the PTI that had initially calculated the cost per kilometre of the Lahore and Islamabad projects, party leader Aleem Khan took the reporter to an undisclosed location.
