US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Jonathan Pratt called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Friday to discuss matters of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral ties, and the enhancement of cooperation in various sectors.
The chief minister said that Pakistan was determined to eliminate terrorism and that there was no room for an extremist mindset in the Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam. He said that the nation had made unprecedented sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Multidimensional ties exist between Pakistan and the USA, and it is hoped that these relations will strengthen in future, the chief minister said.
“We are determined to make Pakistan a welfare state in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam,” Shehbaz Sharif said.
US Consul General in Lahore Yuriy Fedkiw was also present on the occasion.
