Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting here on Friday to review progress on the provision of standardised and top quality medical facilities to the public.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that quality medical facilities were a basic right of all citizens and that the Punjab government was engaged in every possible effort to improve the healthcare system in line with the wishes of the people.
He said that the support of Turkey to improve the healthcare system in Punjab was praiseworthy and that the Punjab government would benefit from the Turkish expertise. He said that the provision of the standardised health facilities in hospitals was the provincial government’s prime objective.
Health experts from Turkey briefed the meeting regarding their recommendations for the improvement of the healthcare system.
Provincial Ministers Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Ayesha Ghaous Pasha, Kh Slaman Rafique, Kh Imran Nazeer, Adviser Dr Umer Saif, the additional chief secretary, and concerned secretaries from other departments also attended the meeting.
