Security guard injured as robbery bid foiled in Karachi Hospital

A security guard on Monday has been severely injured in a firing at Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi.

In an exchange of fire by the robbers, the security guard suffered a bullet injury on the leg. The SSP East Faisal Abdullah Chachar said the armed men even tried to snatch the guard’s weapon.

“A guard and his supervisor were taking Rs6.2 million from one block to the other at the hospital when the robbers intercepted them,” the SSP said.

The security guard resisted and tried to open fire thrice, but his gun did not work.

According to police, the criminal knew about the timings of cash arrival at the hospital. They also hinted at the involvement of anyone from inside the hospital.

Moreover, security personnel have collected all the evidence including CCTV footage and launched an investigation into the matter.
