Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed maximum assistance to the NDMA, PDMA and local administrations for timely and effective rescue and relief efforts in snow hit areas.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in village Sher Shal, Garam Chashma, Chitral FC troops are assisting the civil administration and the National Disaster Management Authority for the rescue of individuals who came under snow slides on Saturday night.
So far seven dead bodies have been recovered along with two injured.
FC soldier Irshad was killed and six others were injured when a Chitral Scout post was overrun by sliding snow in Pishotan, Kandao, Arandu. The soldiers were rescued early morning, according to the ISPR.
