Five accused involved in various criminal activities were arrested by Tipu Sultan Police between January 5 to January 21, said area police on Thursday.

Three accused were arrested after an encounter by the Tipu Sultan police and the remaining two were nabbed on charges of theft, snatching and other miscellaneous criminal activities.

The accused were identified as Noor Muhammad s/o Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Azad s/o Azeem-ud-din, Muhammad Nasir Ali alias Diesel s/o Mumtaz Ali, Noman Sarfaraz s/o Sarfaraz Ahmed and Asif Khan s/o Zubair.

The police recovered two SMGs with 20 bullets, four 30 bore Pistols with 13 rounds and a snatched mobile phone from the accused.
