Muhammad Zubair took oath as the 32nd Governor of Sindh. A ceremony to this effect took place at the Governor House here on Thursday. Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Syed Sajjad Ali Shah administered the oath.
The ceremony was also attended by the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister of State Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and PML-N leader Danial Aziz.
Late talking to a news channel, Governor Muhammad Zubair vowed to cooperate with Pakistan People’s Party for achieving progress and prosperity for the people of Sindh.
He said that situation in Karachi has been improved as compared to the previous years. He said that operation started in Karachi for restoration of peace was successful. He appreciated the role of Army in the country. To a question he said that situation in Karachi before 2013 was not good. Muhammad Zubair said that Karachi was a business hub of the country.
Regarding relations with Muttahida Qaumi Movement, he said that he had good relationship with MQM leadership in Pakistan.
Replying to a question, he said that he would fully cooperate with Sindh chief minister and Karachi mayor for progress in the area.
Soon after taking oath as the Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair visited the Mausoleum of the Father of the Nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah here on Thursday.
He was accompanied by the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister of State for CAD Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and PML-N leader Danial Aziz. The governor laid a wreath of flowers at the Mazar, offered Fateha and recorded his impressions in the visitors’ book.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday congratulated Muhammad Zubair on assuming the office of Sindh governor.
The prime minister expressed the hope that Muhammad Zubair would work hard and to the best-of-his-abilities for alleviating the problems of the people of Sindh and would prove to be an effective link between the province and the Federation.
The PM said that Muhammad Zubair has been nominated due to his professional competence. He prayed for success of Zubair in performance of his duties.
