Discrimination against blind persons intolerable: LHC

Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Mansoor Ali Shah has ordered the appointment of blind persons Muhammad Yousaf and Faisal Majeed into the Foreign Service, stating “no discrimination of blind persons will be tolerated.”

The chief justice further remarked that blind persons should be given equal opportunities.

The petitioners took the plea that they had acquired outstanding positions in the Central Superior Services (CSS) examinations but were being kept from job opportunities because of their blindness.

They petitioned the court to issue orders for their appointment.

The court has upheld their objection and issued orders for their instatement.
