9 al-Qaeda terrorists remanded in police custody

At least nine alleged terrorists of al-Qaeda were presented in court on Saturday and were remanded in police custody for ten days.

Among those arrested is the al-Qaeda South Asia chief Faizur Rehman, who also goes by aliases Abudullah and Danial. Other arrested suspects include Saeed alias Kaalu, Mohammad Mustafa, Amjad Sadiq, Zain ul Abdeen, Afroze alias Lamba, Abdul Baari Usman, Furqan Alam and Mohammad Ibrahim. All of these suspects were taken to the court today (Saturday).

According to an investigative officer, the arrested terrorists were allegedly involved in attacks on police stations, attack on MQM MPA Manzar Imam, murders and illegal possession of weapons. The arrested terrorists have been remanded over their alleged involvement in these crimes.

The suspects are also believed to have been involved in political and sectarian target killings.
