Salman, 49, was supposed to do the film, which the director had wanted to make for the past 12 years. But things did not work out and the role eventually landed in Ranveer’s lap.
When asked if the actor discussed the role with Salman, Ranveer, 30, said, “No. I didn’t get to meet him. Last few times that I met him were during Bajrangi Bhaijaan and recently on Bigg Boss where I went to promote the movie. I didn’t take any tips from him.
“This (role) is my creation. I know he was to play the role but I hope he likes my work. I hope he gives a pat on my back.”
