It’s unfair to blame men for their prejudice against women when gender discrimination is practised in almost every household by the women themselves. Even though modern day educated mothers give equal rights of education to their children, whether it’s a girl or a boy, give them same diet, caress them with matching tender but demand much more from the female child. From the very beginning girls are expected to help their mothers in the house chores after coming from school, college or university whereas boys spend their evenings in recreational activities. Since the childhood lads hear words like “ghar ka kaam sirf larkyan karti hain” that induce a superiority complex in them which ultimately results into a male-dominated society.

So if we want a society where women’s rights are protected, we have to keep in mind that charity begins at home. Mothers should teach their boys that it’s not insulting to help their sisters in household duties.
