Haq says JI wants to see Pakistan as Islamic welfare state

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sirajul Haq Sunday expressed his desire to transform Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state.

Addressing his supporters in Peshawar on Sunday, Haq said people have been staging a sit-in in Islamabad for a month now.

“One minister says that political jirga was not given the mandate to present proposals. We have not taken any decision… We have just presented proposals,” he said.

“Every Pakistani child is under heavy debt of International Monetary Fund (IMF). The IMF has chained the rulers,” he said.

The JI leader said that lawlessness and unemployment were the gift of corrupt system.
