National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has accepted the resignation of former president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Makhdoom Javed Hashmi.
According to details, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq accepted Hashmi’s resignation, which was submitted a couple of days ago after his emotional speech on the floor of the National Assembly. The speaker has forwarded the resignation to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which will issue a formal notification in this regard.
Hashmi was elected as the member of the National Assembly (NA) from NA-149 Multan on a PTI ticket. Following the notification of his resignation, the ECP will further announce a time frame for by-election in the constituency.
Differences between Hashmi and PTI intensified following the advancement of the marchers to the PM Secretariat in Islamabad, after which he had come on media and strongly criticized the party leadership, eventually resigning from his membership two days ago.
