A man along with his accomplice threw acid on his wife, son and a relative near Badami Bagh area on Sunday.
The incident took place when two women carrying a minor child were striding by the Fruit Mandi area near Badami Bagh when unidentified motorcyclists waylaid them, threw acid and fled the scene.
The victims, including a 3-year-old child, are said to be in critical condition.
Later, it was confirmed that one of the attackers was husband of one of the female victims. The reason of the attack is yet not known.
Police reached the spot and started investigations.
The Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI) estimated that there are approximately 1,500 acid attacks a year, globally.
