Security has been beefed up around the Karachi Central Jail on Tuesday due to law and order concerns.
The decision has been made after the Ministry for Jails had disclosed that threats were made by terrorists to attack sensitive prisons of the country.
Safety roadblocks have been placed near main roads of the city due to which the traffic system is being severely affected. According to police, the safety precautions have been taken after terror threat was made to attack the Central Jail.
Cell phone jammers were planted around the prison a couple of days ago so that no contact can be made with the prisoners inside the jail whereas additional convoys of police and rangers have been deployed along with armored cars.
