The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday adjourned for June 10 the hearing of petitions challenging appointment process for selection of vice chancellors (VCs) for six public sector universities and the credibility of the search committee set up to do so. Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh was hearing the petitions filed by Dr Hassan Amir Shah and others. During the hearing, Punjab assistant advocate general requested the court to adjourn the matter for one day because Additional Advocate General Hanif Khatana could not appear before the court. The petitioner’s counsel submitted an application for making Punjab governor a party being chancellor of the varsities under the constitution.
