Five people killed in Karachi

KARACHI: At least five people were killed in separate incidents in Karachi on Saturday amid heightened security measures that were put in place ahead of the arrival of the body of slain MQM leader Dr Imran Farooq.
Baldia Town Station House Officer (SHO) Rao Khalid said that unidentified gunmen killed Nazeer Ahmed in Faqeer Colony. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsy. A man was gunned down in Landhi in Quaidabad police precincts.
Police said 45-year-old Tayyab Rehman was killed when a stray bullet hit him near Al Khair petrol station in Majeed Colony near Hospital Chowrangi. The victim was a resident of Bilal Colony.
Also, unidentified assailants killed a minor in Malir, while two people were gunned down in Surjani Town. Three vehicles were also set ablaze in separate incidents.
