Bilawal alleges PML-N wants constitutional change to make Nawaz AJK premier
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has alleged that the PML-N wants to amend the Constitution so Pakistan’s prime minister can appoint the AJK premier. He said the move was intended to make Nawaz Sharif the head of the AJK government.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Wednesday alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was seeking a constitutional change to make former prime minister Nawaz Sharif the premier of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Speaking at a public rally in LA-3 Mirpur City, Bilawal said the PML-N wanted to alter the constitutional framework so Pakistan’s prime minister could appoint the AJK premier. He made the remarks while addressing supporters in the constituency.
Bilawal claimed the move was aimed at paving the way for Nawaz Sharif, whom he described as a resident of Raiwind and a three-time former prime minister, to head the AJK government. He told the rally:
They (PML-N) want a citizen of Raiwind who has served as prime minister three times to also become the premier of AJK.
The PPP chief’s remarks came as he campaigned in Mirpur City.
