Czech women extend Wimbledon tradition with another finalist
Czech women are set to continue their strong Wimbledon record, ensuring the title returns to the country for a third time in four years. Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova highlighted Czech tennis tradition and grass-court suitability.

LONDON: Czech women will again finish Wimbledon with the singles trophy in their hands, with this year marking the third time in four seasons that a player from the country will lift the Venus Rosewater Dish.
The latest chapter adds to a record that already includes Marketa Vondrousova's title in 2023 and Barbora Krejcikova's triumph in 2024. Earlier Czech winners at the All England Club include Petra Kvitova, who won in 2011 and 2014, and the late Jana Novotna, champion in 1998. Martina Navratilova also began her Wimbledon singles title run as a Czech in 1978 before later becoming a United States citizen, eventually winning nine singles crowns.
Czech players point to style and tradition
Linda Noskova said the success reflects both a shared tennis upbringing in Czechia and the variety within that framework. She said the country's players are developed in broadly similar ways, even if their individual styles differ.
