FIA busts visa fraud ring in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has uncovered a visa fraud and human smuggling network in Gujranwala, arresting two suspects during raids on travel agencies, officials said.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the accused were operating an organised fraud scheme under the cover of travel and study consultancy services, allegedly extorting large sums from citizens and students by promising fake work, visit and student visas.

In a separate operation, the FIA also arrested a suspected human smuggler from Hafizabad, reportedly linked to a deadly boat incident.

Authorities said further investigations are under way to identify additional members of the network and trace victims who may have been defrauded.
