Breathe Pakistan Int'l Climate Change Conference postponed to May 6-7

ISLAMABAD: The international climate change conference Breathe Pakistan has been rescheduled and will now be held on May 6 and 7, according to an announcement by the organisers.

The event had originally been planned for April 30 and May 1. Dawn Media Group said the change in dates was made because of scheduling issues involving international participants.

The conference is being organised by Dawn Media Group and is described as an international gathering focused on climate change. The organisers said the event will bring together policymakers, experts, business leaders, development professionals and members of civil society to discuss climate-related challenges and responses.

According to the announcement, the conference will take place in Islamabad. It is aimed at creating discussion around climate resilience, adaptation, mitigation and sustainable development, while also encouraging cooperation among stakeholders working on environmental and climate issues.

The postponement is linked to the availability and scheduling of international delegates. No other major changes to the conference format were mentioned in the announcement.

The organisers said the two-day event is expected to feature a range of sessions on major climate concerns affecting Pakistan and the wider region. These include the impact of extreme weather, water stress, food security, energy transition and the need for coordinated policy action.

Breathe Pakistan has been presented as a platform for dialogue on the country’s climate vulnerabilities and possible solutions. Pakistan has repeatedly faced climate-related pressures in recent years, and the conference is intended to support engagement between local and international participants on those issues.
