ATC remands trader murder suspects

Islamabad: An anti-terrorism court has sent the suspects arrested in the murder case of trader Aamir Awan to police custody on a nine-day physical remand after terrorism provisions were incorporated into the case.

The order was issued by an ATC headed by Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain.

The development came after terrorism charges were added to the case related to the killing of the trader. Following that addition, the court handed over the arrested suspects to police for further investigation for nine days.

The anti-terrorism court took up the matter after the inclusion of terrorism sections in the case. Presiding over the proceedings, Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain approved the police request for physical remand and directed that the suspects remain in police custody for the specified period.

The remand was granted in the murder case of Aamir Awan, a trader.

Case status

With the suspects now on physical remand, the investigation will continue under police supervision during the nine-day period allowed by the court.

The latest court order marks a procedural step in the case after the addition of terrorism charges, bringing the matter within the jurisdiction of the anti-terrorism court.
