Martyred CCD constable paid glowing tribute at funeral

• Police constable laid to rest with honours after martyrdom in firing incident

• Senior police leadership attends funeral at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines with IG assures full support to martyr’s family

 LAHORE: The funeral prayer of Crime Control Department (CCD) Constable Razaq Dogar, who embraced martyrdom after being shot by armed criminals last night, was offered at Police Lines, Qila Gujjar Singh, amid full official honours.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Kareem, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Additional IG CCD Sohail Zafar Chattha, DIG CCD Waqasul Hassan, DIG Investigation Lahore Zeeshan Raza, DIG Admin Lahore Imran Kishwar, SP CCD Aftab Phalrawan, and a large number of senior police officers and personnel attended the funeral.

A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a salute to the mortal remains of the martyred constable, while IG Punjab laid a floral wreath on the coffin and offered Fateha for the departed soul.

The provincial police chief also met the martyr’s brother, Aftab Dogar, and his sons, Qasim Ali and Roman Hassan, paying tribute to his sacrifice in the line of duty. He assured the bereaved family of full support, saying they would not be left alone and that their care and welfare would be ensured.

Constable Razaq Dogar is survived by one daughter and two sons.

Later, IG Punjab, accompanied by Additional IG CCD and other senior officers, visited Jinnah Hospital Lahore to inquire after Police Constable Imran Ashraf, who was injured in the same firing incident and is currently under treatment.

The IG asked about the injured officer’s condition, prayed for his early recovery, and commended his courage and dedication in the line of duty. He directed that the best possible medical care be provided.

Paying tribute to police personnel, the IG said those who risk their lives without regard for personal safety to protect citizens are a source of pride for the nation.
