Balochistan government appoints aide to 'promote state narrative'

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has appointed Babar Khan Yousafzai as an aide in the Home Department, tasking him with promoting the state narrative and ensuring effective communication on behalf of the provincial administration.

According to an official notification, the appointment was made with the approval of Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, following which the chief secretary issued formal orders for the position.

Role and responsibilities

The notification stated that Yousafzai will be responsible for promoting the "state narrative," ensuring effective communication, and facilitating coordination on related matters. His role is expected to assist the government in presenting its stance in a more organised, effective, and modern manner.

Yousafzai had previously served as the spokesperson for the Balochistan government, bringing prior experience in government communications to his new position.

Yousafzai expresses gratitude

Responding to his appointment, Yousafzai expressed gratitude to the chief minister for placing trust in him. He stated that he would utilise all his abilities to meet the expectations associated with the role.

He further said that he was determined to fulfil his responsibilities in line with national interests, reaffirming his commitment to the task ahead.

The appointment comes as the Balochistan government seeks to strengthen its communication apparatus and ensure that the provincial administration's position on key matters is conveyed in a structured and effective manner. The creation of such a dedicated role within the Home Department signals the government's intent to place greater emphasis on narrative building and public messaging.
