Punjab Police Intensify Crackdown on Kite Flying Violations
Punjab Police are intensifying their crackdown on kite flying violations, resulting in thousands of arrests and a call for public vigilance. Authorities stress the dangers of this activity.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Kareem has directed strict enforcement of the Prohibition of Kite Flying Act, warning that kite flying will not be tolerated anywhere in the province.
The IGP instructed all Regional Police Officers, City Police Officers and District Police Officers to intensify action against those involved in kite flying or selling kites and metallic strings, including through online platforms.
He also ordered the use of drones, Safe City cameras and binoculars to monitor and prevent the dangerous activity.
According to Punjab Police, a province-wide crackdown has already led to 6,185 arrests and 5,912 cases being registered.
Police also seized over 417,000 kites and more than 10,700 string reels, while 2,228 suspects were arrested in Lahore alone during the ongoing operations.
Authorities urged parents to keep children away from kite flying and asked citizens to report violations
