Kutchery Chowk remodeling causes severe traffic congestion in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Ongoing construction work at Kutchery Chowk has led to significant traffic disruptions across Rawalpindi, resulting in prolonged congestion and increased travel times for daily commuters.

According to details, extensive road closures due to the remodeling project have forced hundreds of people to endure long waits in traffic, with many breaking their fast inside their vehicles, particularly near Jinnah Park and Adiala circle on Monday. The situation has been especially challenging for those needing to reach hospitals, educational institutions, and workplaces.

The alternative routes provided to divert traffic have also been reported to be in poor condition. Construction materials scattered near Jinnah Park and the dug-up road for pipeline work in the Harley Street area have contributed to clouds of dust and further inconvenience for motorists.

The City Traffic Police have repeatedly raised the issue with the relevant authorities. The DIG Traffic Police Punjab has also drawn attention to the ongoing problems caused by the construction activity, highlighting the need for urgent measures to ease the situation for the public.

Commuters continue to face daily hardships as the remodeling work progresses, with no immediate relief in sight for those affected by the persistent gridlock in the city.
