Intelligence Bureau to present report on government austerity measures

ISLAMABAD: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is set to submit a report detailing the implementation of the government’s recently announced austerity measures, according to information that emerged on Tuesday.

The government had unveiled a series of austerity steps on March 10 in response to the global oil crisis, which has been exacerbated by the US-Israel conflict with Iran. This crisis has led to a significant increase in local fuel prices, prompting the authorities to introduce measures aimed at reducing expenditures and managing the energy situation.

During a daily meeting convened to assess the progress of these austerity measures and to review the ongoing fuel situation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was briefed on the status of the implementation of his directives.
