Protective fencing and CCTV cameras to be installed at Islamabad’s main entry and exit points

ISLAMABAD: In response to increasing internal security concerns linked to the current regional situation, authorities in Islamabad have initiated measures to enhance the safety of sensitive areas and key infrastructure within the city.

According to details shared during a meeting at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters, work is underway to install protective fencing at the main entry and exit points of the federal capital. The meeting, chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, focused on reviewing security arrangements across Islamabad.

Senior officials present included CDA Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Design and Planning Dr Khalid Hafiz, as well as representatives from the Islamabad Police and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration.

During the session, participants conducted a detailed assessment of the progress made so far in implementing security measures. It was stated that, in addition to the fencing, modern CCTV cameras will be installed at important locations throughout the city. The authorities emphasized that monitoring through these cameras will be ensured to further strengthen surveillance and response capabilities.

The ongoing efforts are part of a broader initiative to secure all sensitive areas and buildings in Islamabad, reflecting heightened vigilance in light of the prevailing security environment in the region.
