ISLAMABAD: The joint parliamentary party of the opposition convened at Parliament House on Wednesday, where members strongly condemned recent US-Israel strikes on Iran and affirmed Iran’s right to self-defence. The meeting, chaired by Tehreek-i-Tahaffuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) Chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai, was attended by prominent figures including Raja Nasir Abbas, Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Raja, and Ali Zafar, among others.

During the session, participants discussed the prevailing national security situation, regional developments, and the sentiments of the Pakistani public. The gathering unanimously adopted a resolution expressing deep concern over the escalating regional tensions and denouncing the attacks targeting Iran.

The resolution called on all Muslim countries to refrain from allowing their territories, airspace, or resources to be used against any other nation under external pressure. The opposition leaders emphasized the importance of unity among Muslim states in the face of external threats and interventions.

In addition to addressing regional issues, the opposition meeting also demanded the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan. The participants insisted that his release should occur through due judicial process and voiced concern regarding his health condition while in jail.

The meeting highlighted the need for upholding the rule of law and ensuring that all legal proceedings are conducted transparently. The opposition leaders reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the country’s constitutional framework and protecting the rights of all citizens.

The joint parliamentary party’s resolution reflects ongoing concerns within Pakistan’s political landscape regarding both domestic and international challenges. The opposition’s unified stance underscores the significance placed on regional stability, national sovereignty, and adherence to legal procedures in high-profile cases.
