Senate deputy chairman urges Nadra to enhance services in Balochistan’s remote areas

ISLAMABAD: Senate Deputy Chairman Syedal Khan has called on the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to extend its modern services to remote and underdeveloped regions of Balochistan. He emphasized the use of advanced technology to facilitate residents in obtaining identity cards and other essential national documents.

During a meeting with Nadra Balochistan Director General Kashif Iqbal on Tuesday, Mr Khan stated, “The introduction of modern facilities and advanced technology in Nadra offices across Balochistan is essential, particularly in remote regions, to ensure that the people of Balochistan receive the same services which are available to the people in other major cities of the country.”

He further noted that implementing modern technology would help integrate people from underdeveloped areas of Balochistan into the national development process. The discussion highlighted the importance of equal access to public services and the role of technology in bridging service gaps between urban and rural areas.

In addition to his meeting with Nadra officials, Mr Khan also held separate discussions with the Quetta deputy commissioner and the local government secretary. These meetings focused on issues related to public services, institutional performance, and socio-economic development in the province.

The Senate deputy chairman’s directives come amid ongoing efforts to improve governance and service delivery in Balochistan, particularly in areas that have historically faced challenges in accessing government facilities and documentation services.
