Residents of Gulshan’s Block 13-D face hardships amid Ramazan due to utility outages and roadwork
Residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s Block 13-D are facing gas and water shortages, along with incomplete roadworks, causing hardship during Ramazan.

KARACHI: Residents of Block 13-D in Gulshan-e-Iqbal are experiencing significant difficulties during Ramazan, as they contend with ongoing gas and water shortages, as well as incomplete roadworks that have left the area dusty and disrupted.
According to a report, the community has been grappling with frequent gas and water outages, which have intensified the challenges of observing Ramazan. Many households are unable to prepare meals for sehri and iftar due to the lack of gas supply. Residents also report that water shortages have forced them to rely on water tankers, adding to their daily expenses and inconvenience.
The situation has been further aggravated by unfinished road construction in the area. The incomplete work has left roads in a poor state, with dust and debris making daily commutes difficult. Residents complain that the dust has become a health hazard, particularly for children and the elderly, and has made it difficult to keep homes clean.
One resident, while speaking about the ongoing issues, said, “We are facing a tough time this Ramazan. There is no gas for cooking, and water supply is irregular. The roads are dug up, and dust is everywhere.”
Locals have called on the relevant authorities to address the utility outages and expedite the completion of roadworks. They say that despite repeated complaints, the problems persist, making life especially hard during the holy month.
As per the report, the combination of utility shortages and infrastructure problems has left the residents of Block 13-D struggling to manage their daily routines and religious obligations during Ramazan.
