Lahore High Court seeks government response on shortage of cardiac medicines

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought an explanation from the government regarding the ongoing shortage of cardiac medicines in the province. The court's inquiry came during the hearing of a petition that highlighted the difficulties faced by heart patients due to the unavailability of essential drugs in public hospitals.

According to the petition, heart patients are being compelled to purchase life-saving medicines from the open market, as these drugs are not available in government-run healthcare facilities. The petitioner argued that this situation is causing significant hardship, especially for those who cannot afford to buy expensive medications privately.
