Beijing — China has urged the United States to effectively manage differences and enhance communication in order to maintain stable relations between the two countries, according to an official statement from the Chinese foreign ministry.
During a regular press briefing, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized the importance of both sides working together to address disagreements. Mao stated, "China always believes that China and the United States should respect each other, coexist in peace, and pursue win-win cooperation." She added that the two countries should "properly manage differences, strengthen communication, and promote the steady development of China-US relations."
The spokesperson also reiterated China's position on safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and development interests. Mao called on the US to approach bilateral relations with a responsible attitude and to work with China to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries.
China's call for improved management of differences comes amid ongoing tensions between Beijing and Washington over a range of issues, including trade, technology, regional security, and human rights. The Chinese foreign ministry's remarks reflect Beijing's continued emphasis on dialogue and cooperation as the preferred means of addressing disputes with the United States.
The statement follows recent high-level interactions between officials from both countries, aimed at stabilizing ties and preventing further escalation of disagreements. However, both sides continue to express concerns over various policies and actions, underscoring the complexity of the bilateral relationship.
