QUETTA: The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has issued a directive to all laboratories in the province conducting pathological, radiological, and other diagnostic tests, requiring them to register with the authority and fulfill their tax obligations as mandated by law.
According to the BRA, a two per cent sales tax has been imposed on services related to pathological, radiological, and diagnostic tests under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act, 2015. The authority has emphasized that all relevant laboratories and diagnostic centres must pay the tax at the prescribed rate and submit their tax returns within the stipulated timeframe for each tax period.
The BRA further warned that laboratories which remain unregistered, fail to pay their tax liabilities, or do not file their returns on time could face penalties and legal action. The authority has urged owners and administrators of laboratories to ensure full compliance with tax laws in order to avoid any legal complications.
The directive is part of the BRA's ongoing efforts to improve tax compliance and broaden the tax base within the province's healthcare sector. The authority reiterated its commitment to enforcing the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act, 2015, and called on all stakeholders to cooperate in this regard.
