Pakistani adventure athlete Samar Khan is facing a visa delay just weeks before her scheduled participation in the Fjällräven Polar 2026 Arctic Expedition.
Khan revealed on social media that she has been unable to secure an appointment at the Swedish Embassy, leaving her with less than three weeks before the expedition begins. She has appealed for assistance in reaching embassy officials to expedite the visa process.
“I will be the only one representing Pakistan in the Fjällräven Polar Arctic expedition, but I haven’t been able to secure an appointment at the Swedish Embassy. Now I’m left with hardly three weeks,” she shared.
The Fjällräven Polar is a demanding 300-kilometer dog-sled journey across the Scandinavian Arctic tundra. The expedition gathers 20 adventurers from around the world, who navigate extreme conditions while learning survival techniques and teamwork skills.
As part of the challenge, Khan is set to lead a team of four Alaskan huskies, representing Pakistan among participants largely from European countries.
Earlier, while announcing her selection, Khan described the opportunity as a defining moment in her career.
“This is the ultimate challenge and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any action sports athlete and adventurer,” she said, expressing gratitude to the organizers for the chance to represent Pakistan.
Samar Khan is widely recognized for her accomplishments in extreme sports and mountaineering. She made history as the first woman to cycle across the Biafo Glacier in the Karakoram range of Gilgit-Baltistan and also became the first Pakistani to cycle to Mount Kilimanjaro’s Uhuru Peak.
Her selection for the Fjällräven Polar marks another major achievement in her adventure sports journey. However, with the departure date fast approaching, her participation now hinges on whether the visa issue can be resolved in time.
