SWAT: In the scenic valley of Swat, in the hilly area of Mankial forest, the first-ever legal hunt of a Kashmiri Markhor took place, marking an important milestone for the region.

According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department, 24-year-old national hunter Taha Nasir from Lahore conducted the hunt under a non-exportable hunting permit, fully complying with all regulations.

The hunter took the shot from a distance of approximately 365 to 370 meters, with the permit valued at PKR 3 million.

The Wildlife Department reported that the hunted Kashmir Markhor had horns measuring 37 inches in length and weighed between 100 and 120 kilograms.

Authorities noted that legal hunting not only generates funds for wildlife conservation but also highlights the significance of tourism and natural resources in the area.
