Interim bail for Bushra Bibi prolonged as court adjourns case to Feb 18

ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of Bushra Bibi in a case related to the November 26 protest and restrained police from arresting her until the next hearing.

The matter was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge Aamir Zia, who accepted the request for extension and ordered that Bushra Bibi not be taken into custody during the bail period.

The court adjourned proceedings until February 18, directing that the bail application be taken up on the scheduled date.

Advocate Shamsa Kiyani appeared on behalf of Bushra Bibi and presented arguments supporting the plea for interim relief. The court recorded her appearance before issuing directions for the next hearing.

According to court documents, the case has been registered at Ramna Police Station and includes provisions of the Punjab Anti-Terrorism and Public Order Act (PAPO) along with other sections related to the protest.

The court said further arguments on the bail application would be heard on February 18, and the current relief would remain in force until the next proceedings.
