Three arrested in fake ID and visa scam
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency’s Counter-Terrorism Wing arrested three suspects involved in issuing fake Pakistani identity cards, machine-readable passports, and Saudi work visas to Afghan nationals and other foreigners.
Muhammad Alam Zeb, Asif Khan, and Haroon Rashid were detained following a tip-off. Investigations revealed Alam Zeb facilitated Saudi work visas on Pakistani passports for 31 Afghan nationals, Asif Khan for four, and Haroon Rashid for 58.
Two other suspects, Muhammad Ishaq Khan and Syed Ehsan Shah, were arrested earlier, accused of helping 22 and 580 Afghan nationals respectively to obtain fraudulent Saudi visas using Pakistani documents.
In total, the gang is accused of processing fake Saudi work visas for 693 Afghan nationals.
