Islamabad ATC rejects pti lawyer's bail in Khawar Maneka court attack case

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad's Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has rejected the pre-arrest bail petition of Fatehullah Barki, a lawyer associated with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in connection with the attack on Khawar Maneka.
The hearing, presided over by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, also saw the extension of bail for other PTI lawyers involved in the case.
Advocates Riasat Hussain Azad, Masroof, and others represented the petitioners during the proceedings, while the accused, including Usman Riaz Gul, also made court appearances.
The case stems from an incident where PTI lawyers allegedly assaulted Khawar Maneka at the court premises during a hearing related to a nikkah case during iddat.
In addition to Barki and Gul, lawyers Zahid Bashir Dar, Mirza Asim Baig, Ansar Mehmood Kiyani, and Saeed Khan are also named as accused in the Khawar Maneka attack case. The court's decision to dismiss Barki’s bail plea while extending the bail of others highlights the ongoing legal scrutiny surrounding the incident.
