Celebrities call out Adnan Siddiqui for 'below the belt' women-flies analogy

Adnan Siddiqui recently addressed the criticism sparked by his controversial remarks, where he compared women to flies. Despite his statement, the digital backlash continues, with numerous influential figures expressing their views on social media.

One such personality, Mishi Khan, took to Instagram to express her astonishment at the comments. She shared that while she occasionally watches television, she is sometimes shocked by the things she hears.

"Especially when these people are role models or looked up to by people," said Mishi. She added, "Those who are successful, get awards. Mentioning that she recently came across her former co-star's comments, Mishi did not hold back.

Clarifying that he does "excellent work," Mishi referred to his recent appearance on Nida Yasir's show, which kickstarted the wave of online criticism. Shedding light on the fact that he also received the Pride of Performance on March 23, Mishi lamented, "He said something that truly shocked - at this occasion, stature, after receiving the award, should he exercise humour, it should be remarkable. When humour is below the belt or of a low standard, it's quite saddening. It's better to just hold a normal conversation. He compared women to flies."

Mishi asked, "Can you imagine that?" Chiding her colleague, she said, "Come on, Adnan. Is this an example worth giving?" Highlighting his achievements once again, she continued, "One's sense of humour should go up, his has gone down." Mishi also praised Nida for her composure, despite being taken aback. She then said that had she been in Nida's place, the conversation would have gone a lot differently. "You cannot compare women with flies," asserted Mishi. "Who gave you this example, how does your mind work?" she questioned.

Adnan Zafar, preferably known as Ken Doll in the digital space, weighed in on the matter as well. "Actors can act, but having a personality is a plus," began the influencer. Evidently angered by the otherwise respected actor's words, he furthered, "[Actors] say all kinds of things out of swag and then end up apologising." Using strong words, he called this the biggest example of "nalaiki." Mentioning Adnan's seniority and saying that he truly respects him, the digital performer added, "You should respect females around you. I believe a woman gave birth to him."

Sonya Hussyn shared her take on the matter as well. Taking to her Instagram Story, the actor penned, "Dear men, let me simplify things for you. The 'bee type' ladies? Yeah, they definitely exist! But they're the ones who haven't quite found their self-worth yet. Here's the key to winning a real woman's heart: it's not about being loaded, charming, a smooth talker, or a game player. Nope, nope! In the end, the real winner is the guy who knows how to genuinely adore his woman with all his heart, no games played. Period! (And trust me, us ladies can spot a faker from a mile away, so don't even try to fake it) P.S. Be the king in this narcissistic world. There's a shortage of real men out there! You're welcome!"

As far as Adnan is concerned, he issued an apology for his statement. "I'd like to address the recent comments I made, which were intended to be humorous and not to cause offence," began the renowned actor. He continued, "Metaphors like 'slippery as a snake' are often used in language. However, I understand how my words may have been misconstrued, and I regret any unintended offence. Moving forward, I'll ensure my words are conveyed with greater clarity and sensitivity."
