Muaz clinches triple crown at Dr Zia Pharmaceuticals Punjab Junior Tennis

LAHORE: Muhammad Muaz delivered an outstanding performance to claim a triple crown at the Dr. Zia Pharmaceuticals Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2026, which concluded successfully at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore.

Muaz showcased exceptional skill, consistency, and composure across multiple age categories, underlining his status as one of Pakistan’s most promising young tennis talents. In the boys U-18 singles final, Muhammad Muaz dominated Abdullah Razzaq with a commanding 8-1 victory. Continuing his impressive run, Muaz partnered with Umar Ali to win the boys U-18 doubles final, defeating the pair of Muhammad Ahmad Afzal and Muhammad Aayan by 6-3.

Muaz further added to his tally by winning the Boys Under-14 Singles Final, where he edged past Muhammad Aayan in a closely contested match, winning 7-6. This victory completed his remarkable triple crown at the championship. Other finals also produced exciting tennis action. In the boys U-14 doubles final, Muhammad Aayan and Daniyal Abdullah emerged victorious after defeating Ahmad Fareed Yawar and Shahzain Faisal by 6-3. In the boys U-12 singles final, Muhammad Aayan claimed the title with a solid 6-4 win over Mustafa Uzair Rana, while the boys/girls U-10 final saw Mustafa Zia defeat Daniyal Afzal Malik by 6-3.

The concluding ceremony was graced by Brig (R) Manzoor Ahmad and Dr. Zeeshan Zia, Chief Executive Officer of Dr. Zia Pharmaceuticals, who attended as distinguished guests. They distributed trophies and prizes among the winners and appreciated the young players for their dedication and competitive spirit.

Speaking on the occasion, the guests commended the organisers for promoting junior tennis in Punjab and emphasised the importance of such tournaments in nurturing grassroots talent and strengthening Pakistan’s future in the sport. PLTA Senior Executive Vice President Rashid Malik thanked the sponsors for supporting junior tennis and hoped that they will continue to support this beautiful game in future.
